FROM NATURAL disasters to man-made scandals, the winds of controversy blew fierce and nearly nonstop in 2017.
The political year really kicked off with the weekend that featured both President Trump’s inauguration and the Women’s March on Washington. From there, it was a surreal ride as Cabinet members departed, Washington leaders were fired and special investigator Robert S. Mueller III moved in. Meanwhile, from Moscow to Pyongyang, America’s international relationships were never far from center stage.
Here is the year in cartoons, as rendered by some especially deft political satirists from both sides of the aisle.
