Winning numbers for "Montana Millionaire" lottery drawing

UPDATE: The million-dollar ticket was sold in Butte. The winning number is 024279.

There were three tickets worth $100,000 each; one was sold in Butte, and two were sold in Great Falls. The winning numbers are 083597, 023452, and 147877

There were five $10,000 tickets sold; two were sold in Billings, and one each was sold in Glasgow, Laurel, and Hamilton.

(1st Report, 11:05 a.m.) The Montana Lottery drew the winning numbers for the annual "Montana Millionaire" on Friday morning.

The $20 tickets sold out on December 15th.

The drawing was scheduled to place just after 10 a.m. at Lottery headquarters in Helena, but Lottery officials say it takes several hours for the process to be validated and completed.

The Montana Lottery website is not accessible - or opening very slowly, in some cases - as of 11 a.m., due to an onslaught of people trying to get information about the winning numbers.

Officials said on the Montana Lottery Facebook page that they hope to announce the winning numbers by noon.

Last year's winners of the Montana Millionaire grand prize were Dan and Marcia Thompson; their million-dollar ticket was sold in Great Falls at Kernaghan’s Pik & Pump at 8th Avenue North and 15th Street (story).

Jack Barisich, an 86-year-old retired snow plow driver with the Montana Department of Transportation living in Winnett, claimed the prize in 2015. His million-dollar ticket was bought at the Pit Stop Tavern in Black Eagle.
