Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $361 million for Tuesday drawing

Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot is worth $361 million with a cash option of $225 million.

If someone buys a ticket matching all the winning numbers, it would be the 22nd largest prize in U.S. lottery history.

The drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. and will be televised on WABC-7 in the New York City area and Fox 29 for viewers in the Philadelphia area. NJ.com will publish the winning numbers immediately following the drawing.

The jackpot was $343 million with a cash option of $215 million until about midday Tuesday when it was bumped up following brisk ticket sales.

Friday's $306 million drawing produced one second prize winner -- a ticket sold in Florida matched five numbers and is worth $1 million. Friday's numbers were 4, 10, 18, 28 and 62. The Mega Ball was 7 and the Megaplier was 2X.

The jackpot for the twice-weekly game has grown since the holders of two lucky tickets split a $42 million prize following the Oct. 13 drawing. One was sold in Michigan, the other in Rhode Island.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 apiece. The game is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Wednesday's Powerball drawing is even more lucrative -- $440 million with a cash option of $278.3 million.
