LANSING, MI -- For the third consecutive drawing a lottery player in Michigan has won the "Lucky for Life" grand prize of $25,000 a year for the rest of their life.
A ticket bought at the Diamond Dot Party Store, located at 20520 15 Mile Road in Clinton Township, matched the five white balls drawn Monday night, Jan 8 - 01-03-15-22-28 - to win the grand prize. The most recent win follows two winners from last week that have yet to be claimed.
Last week, a ticket bought on Jan. 1 at the Picnic Basket, located at 49471 Ann Arbor Road West Plymouth, matched the five white balls drawn - 15-18-25-31-35 - to win $25,000 a year for life. On Jan. 4, a ticket bought at the Mobil gas station, located at 40610 Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Hills, matched the five white balls drawn - 11-12-19-28-46 - to win $25,000 a year for life.
Aside from the rare occurrence that three consecutive jackpot winners have been sold, it's also odd because there have only been 16 grand prize winners of the game in its history.
The winers have two options on how they can claim the prize. They can choose to receive an annual payment of $25,000 for a minimum of 20 years or the rest of their life whichever is greater or players can receive a one-time lump-sum payment of $390,000.
The winners should contact the Michigan Lottery Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to schedule an appointment to collect the big prizes. The prizes must be claimed at the Lottery's headquarters in Lansing. Lucky For Life tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date.
