Zentangle Meditative Drawing Class at the Middleborough Public Library

MIDDLEBORO — Come to the Middleborough Public Library on Wednesday, February 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to try something new in the New Year.

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Through its meditative qualities, it increases focus and creativity and provides an increased sense of peace and personal well-being.

In the first hour of the Sun Image Zentangle class, participants will learn seven "tangles" which are easy-to-learn, step-by-step drawings consisting of either a line, dot or circle which are then combined to create abstract patterns. Drawing the tangles stroke-by-stroke creates a focus which in turn creates a relaxing and meditative state. In the second hour, participants apply the tangles to a unique line drawing of a sun image which they create together step-by-step and can then take home and color.

The class will be taught by Certified Zentangle Teacher Cindy O'Brien. A North Attleboro resident, O'Brien is the owner of Artiste Art and Craft Studio. As a practicing artist for more than 30 years, including having gallery shows in Provincetown and Boston, O'Brien's goal as a teacher is to get people excited about art and just have fun.

Please note you must register to attend this program, as seating is limited. Call the Library at 508/946-2470 or email Libby Fox at lfox@sailsinc.org. This program is free-of-charge, and brought to you by the Friends of the Middleborough Public Library.
