Bemidji Innkeepers Give, food shelf partner on raffle drawing

Bemidji Innkeepers Give is a partnership between Bemidji area hotels and resorts with a goal of combining resources to help the Bemidji community.

In March, the food shelf fell short of its goal by $27,000 for the annual Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. All proceeds from the raffle will go toward making up that shortfall.

In 2017, the food shelf provided 858,000 pounds of food to nearly 3,000 area families. Children, seniors older than 65 and veterans accounted for 50 percent of food shelf customers.

Raffle tickets are $20 and 38 prizes have been donated to the drawing by various businesses, including the top prize of $675 in cash. Other prizes include suite tickets for six to a BSU men's hockey game, a night at Kohl's Resort for four people, a $100 gift card to Walmart and many others.

The raffle will be held at the Innkeepers Give booth at the Best MN Town Party on Wednesday, June 27, at the waterfront. Tickets will continue be sold from 5 to 8 p.m., and drawings for prizes starts at 8 p.m. You need not be present to win.

Tickets also can be purchased at Holiday Inn Express Bemidji, 2422 Ridgeway Ave. NW, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as at Bemidji Community Food Shelf, 1260 Exchange Ave. SE, during its hours of operation. The food shelf is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and also 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every third Monday.
