The Powerball lottery jackpot has swelled to $750 million for Saturday night's drawing and there's still time before the deadline to buy lottery tickets.
The cash option for tonight's Powerball drawing is an estimated $428.6 million if someone matches the winning numbers drawn. If someone wins Saturday, it would be the fourth largest lottery prize in U.S. history, though it would still be well short of the $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot won on Tuesday.
The Powerball jackpot of $750 million is estimated and could rise in the final day of ticket sales.
The Powerball winning numbers will be drawn at 10:59 p.m. and NJ.com will publish the numbers at www.nj.com/lottery.
For those who want to watch live, there are several options.
Powerball drawings are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights.
The sales cutoff times vary by state and are typically one or two hours prior to the 10:59 p.m. drawing. So make sure your purchase gets in before the deadline.
Winners can remain anonymous in six states — Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina.
In Michigan, winners are anonymous unless they win Mega Millions or Powerball prizes. There are some other ways to claim a lottery prize through a limited liability corporation, but that gets complicated.
In Arizona, people who win more than $600 can keep their names secret for 90 days after claiming prizes, but after that names are public record.
