(KCRG) Since the 1960's women have become more prominent in the fields of science. This has led to a shift in portrayals of science and scientists.
Psychologist David Miller wanted to know if gender stereotypes about scientists have changed over the past five decades. He and his colleagues looked over 78 studies that asked kindergartners to "Draw a scientist".
They found a dramatic shift from the same study done in the sixties. Originally less than one percent drew women. the data shows that today the representation is nearly equal.
