The new development will bring a fresh look to the downtown area.
The building alone is expected to cost nearly $152 million dollars. It's a project that's taken years to get to this point, but soon all of that planning will be put to action and a new complex will be built.

will span more than 300 thousand square feet.
Scheduled to be complete in 2022, the six story building will hold more than a dozen courtrooms, offices and conference rooms.
The construction comes after some courthouse employees complained of health problems linked to mold in the old facility.
Dorothy Pilkington says, "well there won't be mold or mildew, there won't be anymore, they say there's a good bit now, mold and mildew and that's not good for your allergies."
The new development will include the area where the old building now sits. The first phase will start with the parking garage. After that the energy plant will be built, then construction will start on the courthouse itself, which will include a courtyard that will cover the length of the current judicial building.
County Administrator Cole Alverson was unavailable for an interview, but did share that the project is progressing well and is on time.
The total budget for the entire project is nearly $217 million dollars, paid for by the penny sales tax voters approved last year.
Alverson says that they are collecting between $3.4 and $3.8 million dollars per month at a rate that has them ahead in their budget projections.
Dorothy Pilkington says, "I think it's wonderful, great for Spartanburg, I've been in Spartanburg all my life so, I think it's great."
Officials say the new building will have room to grow amd to keep the prisoners away from the judges and the public.
