Volunteer snowshoe artists needed for 2019 snow drawing - Steamboat Pilot & Today

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Bud Werner Memorial Library and The Nature Conservancy will present the 2019 community snow drawing from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Carpenter Ranch in Hayden. The Yampa Valley community is invited to join in creating a large, landscape-scale snow drawing by walking patterns with snowshoes on a snowy hay meadow at the ranch.

If you go

What: Community snow drawing
When: 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 27
Where: Carpenter Ranch in Hayden

Volunteers will meet at the main ranch house at 10 a.m. to learn about the landscape that is the canvas, answer questions and gain inspired ideas and instruction for how to delve into your own contributions to the snow pattern before heading into the hay meadow. Participants will walk patterns in the meadow until it is full — likely around noon — but people can leave earlier if they need to or stay later if they so desire.

Everyone must bring their own snowshoes, snacks and water. Register online at SteamboatLibrary.org/events/2019snowdrawing.
