Powerball jackpot grows to $448 million ahead of Wednesday's drawing - The News Journal

Powerball is on a roll.

With no big winners after Saturday night's drawing, the jackpot swells to $448 million ($271.7 million cash value) for Wednesday's drawing.

The winning numbers on Saturday were 05-06-45-55-59, Powerball 14, and Power Play 3x.

Saturday was a bust, of sorts, with nobody hitting the jackpot or matching five numbers and the Power Play, although winners in Indiana and Maryland did match five numbers to win $1 million.

A Delaware store sold a $1 million ticket on March 2 with five matching numbers. The Fenwick Island Goose Creek in Selbyville sold the winning ticket, according to the Delaware Lottery.

The last winner of a Powerball jackpot near the size of Saturday's drawing was a 56-year-old Brooklyn man named David Johnson, who in January claimed the $298.3 million jackpot from a drawing just after Christmas, according to a news release from Powerball. Since then, a number of tickets have won smaller jackpots.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.
