A nine-year-old child sparked a social media meltdown with a graphic drawing of his 63-year-old neighbour falling down the stairs.
The little boy sent a get well soon card to his neighbour and ‘best friend’, Denise Carrington, after she took a tumble at her home in Stirling, Scotland, on Saturday.
To lift her spirits while she was in hospital, Liam sent a card complete with stick-figure drawings of her tumbling down the stairs and lying in her hospital bed recovering.
His artwork was praised by hundreds of amused fans after Denise’s granddaughter, Jodie Ramsay, 21, shared it on Twitter.
Jodie said the card was the ‘pick me up’ her grandmother needed after sustaining five broken bones dislocating her shoulder in the fall.
![Pics from Jam Press (funny card) A hilarious card given by a nine-year-old boy to his elderly injured neighbour has gone viral thanks to his graphic drawing. Denise Carrington, 63, fell down her stairs on Saturday at her home in Stirling, Scotland, and was taken to hospital with five broken bones and a dislocated shoulder. To lift her spirits, Liam, a young neighbour of Denise, sent her a get well soon card on Monday as she recovered in hospital. The card, which features a crude drawing of Denise tumbling down the stairs and being driven to the hospital in an ambulance, sent Twitter into a frenzy as granddaughter Jodie Ramsay, 21, posted the card online. She tweeted two photos of the card with the caption: "My nana fell down the stairs and a wee boy in the street gave her this card." Despite her circumstances, Denise apparently found the incredibly detailed card 'hilarious', according to Jodie. The card, which was charmingly signed "from your best friend Liam", has since had 45,000 likes and over 3,000 retweets after it was posted on Tuesday afternoon. One twitter user commented: "[sic] That is the cutest thing (and a very impressive graphic drawing of the actual incident)." Another user, likely a fan of true crime, replied: "The boy definitely pushed her down the stairs and made this to cover his tracks." Now staying in the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, online users are hoping that Denise will eventually be able to see Liam again, as one commented: "I hope your nana and her best friend are now reunited." Denise is a big supporter of Liam’s football team and regularly goes to support her grandson, who also plays on the team, she said.

Jodie said her grandmother is fine now and has been discharged from hospital.
She added: ‘I didn’t expect such a huge reaction from it, I just thought it was really cute especially with the step by step diagram and his signing of the card ‘from your best friend Liam’.
Liam knows about the huge reaction from the tweet and is ‘buzzing’ about it.
