The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing has climbed to $192 million with a cash option of $130.7 million.
The winning numbers were: 12, 15, 30, 50, 65. MegaBall: 1. MegaPlier: 4x
No one hit Friday’s $172 million drawing. There was a $1 million, second-prize ticket bought with the lucky winner in Florida matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
In New Jersey, three of the 18 tickets that matched four numbers were bought with the Megaplier option for an extra $1 and are worth $1,000. The other 16 are valued at $500 apiece.
Friday’s winning numbers were 6, 16, 37, 59, and 62. The Mega Ball drawn was 5 with a Megaplier of 2X.
It’s been eight weeks since someone in New Hampshire won a $168 million jackpot on July 23. That prize has yet to be claimed.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been won five times this year, including once in New Jersey. Michael J. Weirsky, of Warren County, won the $273 million Mega Millions jackpot from the March 1 drawing.
Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
