The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing is worth an estimated $118 million with a cash option of $79.3 million.

The winning numbers were: 9, 20, 36, 41 and 54. The Mega Ball drawn was 22 with a Megaplier of 2x.

The Mega Millions jackpot was last won more than a month ago in the Sept. 24 drawing. Someone who bought a ticket in Cedar Park, Texas - a suburb of Austin - won the $225 million jackpot. A person who opted to remain anonymous claimed the prize on Monday, choosing the cash option worth $157,091,592.

While no one hit Tuesday’s $105 million jackpot, a pair of second-prize, $1 million tickets were bought - one in Illinois, the other in Virginia.

In New Jersey, 32 tickets matched four numbers for Tuesday’s drawing. Seven were sold with the Megalpier option for an extra $1 and are worth $1,000 apiece. The others are valued at $500 each.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 4, 9, 17, 27 and 39. The Mega Ball drawn was 22 with a Megaplier of 2x.

The top prize has been won six times this year, including once in New Jersey. Michael J. Weirsky, of Warren County, won the $273 million Mega Millions jackpot in the March 1 drawing.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
