The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $178 million with a cash option of $117.9 million.

The winning numbers were: 12, 19, 34, 35 and 68. The Mega Ball drawn was 20 with a Megaplier of 2X.

The jackpot was last hit on Sept. 24 when a Leander, Texas resident won the $227 million top prize. The winner chose to remain anonymous and took home $157,091,592.

No one hit Tuesday’s $163 million drawing, nor were there any second-prize $1 million tickets sold across the country.

In New Jersey, a pair of $10,000 tickets matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball were bought, New Jersey Lottery officials said. One was sold at Central Mini Market on First Street in Hackensack, the other at Tont Service Station on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 19, 30, 44, 56 and 65. The Mega Ball drawn was 24 with a Megaplier of 2X.

The top prize has been won six times this year, including once in New Jersey. Michael J. Weirsky, of Warren County, won the $273 million Mega Millions jackpot in the March 1 drawing.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
