Former Giants head coach Pat Shurmur reportedly drawing interest from Redskins for offensive coordinator - SNY.tv

It looks like Pat Shurmur may not be out of a job for too long after all, as the former Giants head coach is reportedly drawing interest from the Redskins for their offensive coordinator position.

According to Grant Paulsen of NBC Sports and The Athletic, Shurmur's name is being discussed internally to fill the position, as the Redskins look to fill out new head coach Ron Rivera's staff for next season.

Additionally, Paulsen added that former Panthers OC Scott Turner and Redskins holdover OC Kevin O'Connell have already interviewed for the job.

ESPN's John Keim reported that he is unsure if there will be an interview for Shurmur, who he believes isn't sold on joining Washington.

Shurmur, who has held stints as an offensive coordinator with the Rams, Eagles and Vikings in the past, was fired by the Giants last week after going 9-23 in two seasons as their head coach.

The Giants (and Shurmur) chose Daniel Jones to be their future quarterback with the No. 6 overall pick in last season's draft, skipping over Dwayne Haskins, who eventually fell to the Redskins at No. 15...

That could certainly make for an awkward reunion should Shurmur wind up in Washington.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
