The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $187 million with a cash option of $130.9 million.

The winning numbers were: 9, 14, 27, 36 and 52. The Mega Ball drawn was 4 with a Megaplier of 3X.

While no one hit Tuesday’s $168 million jackpot, three second-prize tickets matching five numbers were sold around the country. Tickets bought in Louisiana and Ohio are worth $1 million apiece. A ticket purchased in California is valued at $165,920. California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. They differ from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.

In New Jersey a $10,000 third-prize ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven on Main Street in Ridgefield Park. It matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 32, 48, 50, 51 and 64. The Mega Ball drawn was 10 with a Megaplier of 2X.

The winner of the $375 million Mega Millions jackpot in the Dec. 17 drawing claimed the big prize in Ohio in January after forming a trust, lottery officials said. “The Great Hope Trust" chose the cash option and will receive $182,555,782 after 28% state and federal taxes are deducted.

Sold in Mentor, Ohio, it’s now the 32nd-largest prize in U.S. lottery history and the 14th largest Mega Millions jackpot dating to the game’s inception in 2002.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
