A Markham man has a lot of extra zeroes in his bank account after winning on an Illinois Lottery ticket.
Gerald Jackson was a big winner in the Lucky Day Lotto drawing on Dec. 3, and he claimed his $400,000 prize this week, according to the Lottery.
“This is fantastic!” he said. “I’m going to use this money to pay off my mortgage and buy a new truck.”
According to the Lottery, Jackson has been playing the same numbers for more than a year, and he encourages players to stick with their numbers no matter what.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Shell Station in the 16000 block of South Crawford Avenue in Country Club Hills. The retailer will receive a $4000 bonus thanks to the winning ticket sale.
