Watching this timelapse footage of artist Steeven Salvatdrawing a cutaway illustration of a mechanical crab, revealing its impossible inner workings on one side, will make you marvel at his patience and incredibly steady hand. If the art thing doesn’t work out, Salvat could easily find work as a surgeon.
The illustration is one of many Salvat made for his Mechanical/Biological series, and you can check out the final versions here. But possibly even more impressive than his skills with a pen is the fact that Salvat actually made the parchment paper he’s drawing on, using tea to make it appear yellow and ancient.
