After London’s Orbital Comics would normally close this Friday – it is reopening. For a special occasion.
Infinity War: A Life Drawing Spectacular will be kicking off instore, alongside the release of a certain Avengers: Infinity War movie.
Run by the Art Model Collective, it will see professional models Manko and Carla posing alongside a number of cosplayers, for a life drawing session recreating classic Avengers scenes, in various poses all around the comic shop.
Basic materials and refreshments are provided, tickets are £15 each, and there are currently ten spots left if anyone is interested. The event will run on Friday, April 27th from 7 pm.Live model drawing sessions are not as common as some comic book artists would like, this makes it more affordable, and includes the costumes as well.
Orbital Comics is on Great Russell Street in London, next door to Leicester Square tube.
The Art Model Collective is a model-run group who organise their own life drawing events, offering dramatic, interactive, themed multi-model tableaux vivants.
Continuing on from the work started as The Life Drawing Collective, Carla and Manko also aim to opens up the roster to be more inclusive and representative of the industry as a whole. To treat established professionals with the respect they deserve, to mentor and nurture new talent and create a healthier happier working environment, and to see the models be paid what they deserve.
