WATCH: This young Khayelitsha artist used drawing to escape drugs and alcohol abuse

Luvo Khehla, a second-year graphics design student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, says art helped him escape a life of drug and alcohol abuse.

The 21-year-old started drawing at the age of six after seeing his father – who is a teacher – do the same.

Khehla dreams of one day exhibiting his art in his community; his ultimate goal is to derive an income from his art.
