The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing is worth an estimated $137 million with a cash option of $87.7 million.

The winning numbers were: 8, 16, 31, 48, 52. The Mega Ball drawn was 23. The Megaplier was 3x.

Mega Millions has gone 10 drawings without a top prize winner. It was last won on June 7 when someone who bought a lucky ticket in San Diego hit the $522 million jackpot - the 15th biggest in U.S. lottery history. The winner has yet to claim the money.

No one hit Friday’s $121 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold across the country either. In New Jersey, 17 tickets were purchased that matched four of five numbers but not the Mega Ball. Three were bought with the Megaplier option and are worth $1,000. The others are valued at $500 apiece.

Friday’s winning numbers were: 8, 25, 38, 56, 59. The Mega Ball drawn was 7 with a Megaplier of 2x.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been hit four times this year, including once in New Jersey. Michael J. Weirsky, of Warren County, won the $273 million Mega Millions jackpot from the March 1 drawing.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. It’s a 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
