LANSING, MI -- For the first time in months, the Mega Millions jackpot is worth more than $300 million as the estimated jackpot for the drawing on Tuesday, Dec. 10 is worth $314 million. The cash option for tonight’s drawing is worth $212.3 million.

Once again, MLive will be providing live results of tonight’s drawing and will update this story with the winning numbers as they come in. I’ll be jumping in the comments at 10:55 p.m. to answer questions and share the winning numbers.

How to play Mega Millions and Powerball

The Mega Millions drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the following TV stations throughout the state:

• WBKB-TV 11 (CBS)
• WDIV-TV 4 (NBC)
• WNEM-TV 5 (CBS)
• WXSP-TV (MyNetwork TV)
• WLAJ-TV 53 (ABC)
• WMKG-TV 38 (IND)
• WLUC-TV 6 (NBC/FOX)
• WGTU-TV 29/WGTQ-TV 8 (ABC)

Follow the drawing, MLive will publish an update in the morning that includes whether or not anyone won the jackpot.

The drawing comes during a string of big lottery wins in the state. Last week, a Grand Rapids woman claimed a $5 million prize that she only realized she’d won by scrolling through Facebook.

Last week, a Washtenaw County man expected to only win $20 playing an instant game, but was shocked to learn he won $1 million.

That win came around the same time a Wayne County man won $2 million playing an instant ticket on Thanksgiving. The man says he has plenty to be thankful for now and will use the money to help family and charity.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot were a couple from Suttons Bay who came forward to claim an $80 million Powerball win. That couple plans on using the money to support their family of seven kids and 21 grandkids.

And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a winner worth $1 million sold in Hartland last year went unclaimed. The ticket was purchased at the Speedway in Hartland, but the winner never came forward to claim the prize. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
