Mega Millions Drawing For 12/10/19: Tuesday Jackpot is $314 Million - Newsweek

The Mega Millions jackpot for 12/10/19 is $314 million, and the drawing will be held at 11 p.m. ET tonight.

Tonight's 12/10/19 jackpot is $314 million, with a cash-value option of $212.3 million. The total jackpot could increase depending on the number of tickets sold around the country prior to the drawing.

The numbers on Friday (12/06/19) for the $285 million jackpot were: 20-31-40-46-61 with a Mega Ball of 20. The Megaplier was 5x.

There was no grand prize winner on Friday, and there were no tickets sold that matched the first five white balls for the second-prize of $1 million. Had the second prize been won, and the Megaplier been purchased for an extra $1, the second prize would have been worth$5 million.

There were 25 tickets Friday that matched four of the five white balls and the Mega Ball for the $10,000 third prize. Three of those purchased the Megaplier for an extra $1 for third-prize winnings of $50,000.

The last Mega Millions grand prize winner was for $227 million on 09/24/19 with a ticket purchased in the city of Cedar Park, Texas—a suburb north of Austin. The winner from nearby Leander came forward to claim that prize, but they wished to remain anonymous.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery every Tuesday and Friday night, and it is one of America's two biggest lottery jackpot games. Mega Millions jackpots start at $40 million, and other prizes pay from $1 million to $2 million or more with a Megaplier. The previous Mega Millions winning jackpot ticket was for the 07/23/19 drawing of $168 million. That ticket was sold at Brookside Market & Deli in Exeter, NH. This was New Hampshire's first winning jackpot ticket for Mega Millions. The cash-value option for that ticket was $101.9 million.

The jackpot winner before that was for $522 million—the seventh-greatest Mega Millions jackpot ever. It was sold June 7, 2019, in San Diego, California, at Sorrento Deli Mart, which was awarded a retailer bonus of $1 million for selling the winning ticket. That $1 million is from the California Lottery, and is not subtracted from the winner's grand prize.
