On Thursdays in March, from 5:30-7:30 pm, artist Robin Towle-Fecso will run a Pop Art: Comic Strip Drawing class at the Storyteller's Cottage. Robin will teach students how to storyboard, ink, and drive home the message of their works while drawing with comic book flair. The first class will cover character proportions and body deconstruction, and students will go over their stories with Robin and the rest of the class. The second class will focus on character design, expression, and basic clothing. The third class will cover storytelling through panels and basic perspective drawing. In the class class, students will learn inking techniques and critique each other's stories.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Robin Towle-Fecso is a seasoned creative professional, graphic design business owner and an Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design at Asnuntuck Community College. Her company, Jumpstart, has created commercial branding designs for local companies for the past 12 years, building on her vast previous experience designing websites, brochures, logos and the like for major companies across the country.
The Storyteller's Cottage is located in a vintage Victorian house in the center of historic Simsbury, CT, and hosts all manner of immersive literary events throughout the year, including Agatha Christie inspired live murder mystery parties, Great Gatsby themed Jazz Supper Clubs, fascinating close-up illusions at Fine Parlor Magic nights, a Literary Dinner Party series on select evenings at midnight, and more.
