Pair of $50K Powerball tickets sold for weekend drawing

Two tickets worth $50,000 each were sold in New Jersey for Saturday's Powerball drawing.

Both matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

One was purchased at Peanut World on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, while the other was bought at 7-Eleven on Main Street in Lodi, state lottery officials said Monday.

Saturday's winning numbers were 26, 28, 47, 49 and 58 with a Powerball of 3. The Megaplier was 4x so if the two $50,000 winners spent an extra $1 to exercise the Powerplay option, each would have won $200,000.

The odds of a ticket matching four numbers plus the Powerball are about 913,129 to 1.

No one across the country hit the $78 million jackpot, pushing the top prize for Wednesday's drawing to $92 million with a cash option of $56.8 million.

There were also no second-prize winning tickets bought. Those match five numbers but not the Powerball and are worth at least $1 million.

Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
